'Blessed are the Toymakers'

In my heart and imagination all toy makers are kind and gentle souls who love their craft and have a little of the magician in them. Their only purpose is to create pleasure for others, to bring moments of magic and wonder to children and adults alike.

Blessed are the Toymakers.

the story so far...

Born 'Down Under' but now happily 'right side up', I now live among the bearded old trees and river-song of the Scottish Borderlands. Surrounded by this natural magic it is all to easy to allow paint and story to create portals into a world beyond. An in-between world inhabited by the strange and yet familiar, the peculiar and yet charming.

In each picture there is a tale for the telling. Both curious and intriguing, they are invitations to delve into the imagination and take your place amongst the characters. To recognise that the realm of Story is a living entity that welcomes your interaction.

“Creating pictures for me is much the same as gradually opening the shutters, or drawing the curtains to peer through an open window into the realm of Untold Stories. Staring into blank paper, images begin to appear in the whiteness. Then gently, softly, pencil and paint explore the landscape and embrace it’s creatures and it’s people. For a brief moment I am honoured to be present in a land both familiar and fantastic.”
